We have done a lot of research on how to fit all of our "stuff" in the RV, and how to keep everything organized. There are a lot of tips and tricks out there to help make RV living easier. You don't have to spend a lot of money to get started. Several of these items can be purchased for under $10, and you can even find some of them at the Dollar Tree.
Command hooks are great when you don't want to drill holes. We use them for a lot of different things. We have them in the bathroom to hang our towels and robe. We also use the waterproof type in the shower to organize our shampoo, conditioner, loofahs, razor, shaving cream, body wash, and bath toys. We use the tiny clear ones to hang strings of lights. There is a new style that you can hang pictures with. We have used them, but they aren't as sturdy as the others. I don't recommend hanging heavy pictures with them.
These are great for a lot of different uses. You can store pretty much anything with them, and quickly organizes the space. We use them in the kids closet, under our bed to store our clothes, and in the pass through.
I fought this one for a long time. John kept saying over and over that we need to get a shoe rack. We stored our shoes in the dinette. For tiny home dwellers we have a lot of shoes. Too many! After some time, I gave in and thought that I would at least give it a shot! It has worked out well for us. It seems that it is easier for our kids to put their shoes away, so I'm convinced. We hung ours in a spot where it is not that visible.
4)Screw in Hooks
You can use these to hang different items inside your cabinets. We use them to hang our coffee cups.
The most popular use for these are for hanging knives on the wall instead of storing them in a drawer or using a cutting block. You can also use these to organize tools.
If your family is anything like mine, everything seems to end up next to the front door. Instead of having all of it piled up on your counter taking up space, get something to hang your keys.
7)Plastic Drawer Dividers
We use drawer dividers throughout the RV. When in the drawer it just seems to magically make everything better! Our favorite place to use them is in the silverware drawer in the kitchen.
I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like RV cabinets are poorly designed. They are really tall, and kind of odd shaped. So it helps to get some wire shelving to utilize the height of the cabinets.
9)A Rack for Canned Goods
Before we purchased a can organizer, we just threw our cans in the cabinet. We never really knew what we had. A can organizer will help you use all of your space, while being able to see what you have.
10)Metal Utility Hooks
These are great for attaching your broom, mop, or whatever, to the wall of your pass through. I scored mine at the Dollar Tree!!
Velcro is amazing! You can use it to attach items to the wall, or to keep your things secure while on the road. I used some on a soap dispenser so it would stay on the counter when were driving.
I know that was 11, but they are all really great and I couldn't bear to cut one out! Getting things organized in your RV is easy. Don't get overwhelmed, just do one project at a time. Good luck!!
We would love to know if you have any hacks of your own! Feel free to comment with your own tips.
